Executive Leadership & Strategic Finance
For over 20 years, I have led complex financial operations across highly scrutinized and demanding environments. From guiding non-profits with legacy infrastructure to modernizing top-tier independent schools, my focus has always been on creating robust, resilient financial systems that enable organizational vision.
Most notably, I served as Chief Financial Officer for WinSport, a $400M Olympic legacy organization. In this role, I oversaw massive capital assets, managed diverse revenue streams, and ensured long-term sustainability for facilities that serve both elite athletes and the public.
My deep specialization extends into the independent school sector, where I have spent over 14 years, most recently driving financial strategy at St. Margaret's School. I understand intimately the delicate balance of enrollment modeling, tuition setting, capital campaigning, and the complex governance structures unique to educational institutions.
The AI Philosophy
"If I had an hour to solve a problem, I would spend 55 minutes on the question and then 5 minutes on the answer." - Attributed to Albert Einstein
I fundamentally believe AI will transform business exponentially. However, the true differentiator will not be the technology itself, but the Professional Human Judgement wielding it. The future belongs to those who know how to ask the right questions and fundamentally rethink business processes from the ground up, rather than simply automating outdated workflows.
The Olympic Mindset
Before my corporate career, I spent a decade competing at the highest level of international sport as a rower, representing Canada at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games.
Elite sport teaches you that success is rarely born from dramatic, sweeping changes. It comes from the relentless, disciplined execution of fundamentals. It requires taking the long view while executing flawlessly in the present moment. This is exactly how I approach financial strategy. I don't believe in quick fixes; I believe in building durable systems that compound value over time.
Why I Consult
I launched Phil Graham Consulting because I saw a profound gap in the market. Many organizations need high-level strategic financial leadership but don't require or can't sustain a full-time executive. They need someone who can step into the boardroom, understand complex operations quickly, and chart a clear path forward.
Whether it's modernizing accounting tech stacks, navigating an executive transition, or providing steady board-level reporting, my goal is to deliver clarity, confidence, and actionable strategy.
